Hey you all, hope you are slaying today as well 😊
The word ‘slay’ always reminds me to stay on top of my game. But that certainly doesn’t come easy. A lot of hard work goes into it, to never slip on to the second step of that laddar. And given the competition, the process gets tougher by the day. Admit it or not, age is one big challenger that attempts to do it all in its power to get to you. Mine is no exceptional case.
As I hit 30s, all sorts of nightmares started to haunt me. But I knew a problem is a problem only till one reaches the solution. I made way to mine and felt much sorted. So guys, cutting the long story short, here I am… all geared up to share my skincare routine with you.
This blog will particularly talk about my morning skincare ritual. I’ll soon follow it up with a piece on my night-time skincare regime.
I have dry to very dry skin, fluctuating from season to season (haven’t been able to decide whether summers affect my skin in a worse way or winters). So to avoid uncomfortably dried out and flaky skin, I need to be a regular. My morning skincare regime is as common as it could get, with a few additions, of course. Yup, I follow a CTM (Cleansing, Toning, Moisturizing) diet for my face every morning. Here’s how I do it, spin that I add to it and products that I swear by.
Cleansing: This, of course, comes after I have splashed my face with cool water (in summers; I prefer lukewarm water in winters).
Cleansing could prove to be really harsh on dry skin, but that’s no excuse to steer clear of this step. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. And in my case, micellar water comes to the rescue. In fact, I’d say it’s a must if you have dry skin, as it soothes and hydrates skin without stripping it of its natural oils. I use Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water that leaves my skin feeling soft, supple and healthy. The refreshing formula is non-sticky and without perfume. The best part about it? It doesn’t require rubbing to get rid of impurities and I need not even rinse it. Yay!! There’s more — it’s a great makeup remover too!
How I cleanse: I soak a cotton pad with some micellar water and sweep it across my face. That’s it, I’m done!
Toning: It’s time we gave all the due credit to toners, easily the most misunderstood skincare product! A good toner hydrates the skin and balances its pH, and thus, is truly essential to maintain good health of the skin. I use The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner. The pretty bottle comes with the added advantage of protective vitamin E that is the ultimate food for dry skin, so I completely swear by this product. The mild formula is alcohol-free and easily gets absorbed into the skin. It definitely helps to improve skin texture.
How I tone: Same as I apply cleanser. There are days when I give cotton pads a break and use my fingertips instead, by tapping a few drops across my face and pressing it in to even application.
Serum: Do you know the biggest difference a high-quality serum brings to your face? Well, my experience says its power to completely transform your skin’s health. I blindly trust Lakme Youth Infinity Skin Firming Serum to enjoy brighter, healthier and glowier skin. Age-defying, glow-enhancing and moisture-boosting — it helps me achieve a tight, sculpted look.
A huge sucker for The Body Shop products, I have also used the brand’s Vitamin E Intense Moisture Serum and totally loved the results. It conditions and moisturizes the skin while protecting it from harsh and harmful environmental aggressors and premature aging. Like toners, serums too go a long way.
How I apply serum: A couple of pumps are enough. I pat it across my face, allowing it to get fully absorbed into the skin.
Moisturizing: For this crucial step, I have been dependent on The Body Shop Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream for the longest time. The rich, non-greasy formula forms a solid, protective layer over the skin, locking in the moisture for long-lasting hydration. The end result? My skin always ends up feeling fresh and soft, and looking more radiant every day.
How I moisturize: I apply a thin layer of the cream, massaging it in with circular motions.
Sunscreen: Daily sun protection is must, and thus, this step becomes all the more vital for me, especially when I have plans to head out into the day. Packed with SPF 30, Lakme Sun Expert Ultra Matte Lotion is bae for me. It not only provides a protection shield to my skin keeping it moisturized all day long, but also gives a glow that stays with me for long.
How I apply sunscreen: I tap a few dots on my face, neck and décolletage, massaging it into the skin evenly.
That’s it, guys! I’m ready to take on the world with unstoppable confidence in my spirit and matchless glow on my face.
